Air Force deploys 100 jets in search of 110 schoolgirls

The Air Force has deployed 100 fighter jets in the search for the 110 schoolgirls abducted on February 19, the Federal Government said yesterday. The students of the Government Girls Science and Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, Yobe State were abducted from their hostels by terrorists. Twenty of the jets have flown 200 hours as at Monday evening, according to a fact sheet on the search released by Minister of Information, Culture and National Orientation Lai Mohammed. Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar relocated yesterday to Yobe State “to personally superintend the search for the girls”, the minister said. He also released the details of the missing girls. Eight are in JSS1, 17 in JSS2, 12 in JSS3, 40 in SS1, 19 in SS2 and 14 in SS3. 50 Cent Admits That He Never Actually Owned Any Bitcoin In bankruptcy Document

50 cent admitted that he did not, in fact, make $8 million bitcoin by accepting the crypto currency as a form of payment for his album Animal Ambition back in 2104. In frriday court document obtained by the Blast, the rapper admits that he has never owned bitcoin, and only went along with the initial report from TMZ because “so long as a press story is not irreparably damaging to my image or brand, I usually do not feel the need to publicly deny the reporting” He added, “This is particular true when I feel the press report in question is favorable to my image or brand.” It did make 50 Cent actually a baller when, at the height of bitcoin’s value, he appeared to be $8 million deep in crypto currency. Another information is coming in that a dragon have made away with $486 million, a loan given to Nigeria by world bank. This was revealed to newsmen by Lai Muhammad minutes after the money was received from world bank, on landing the Nigerian soil, the money was made away by unknown dragon. The minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said Nigerians are in safe hands with President Muhammadu Buhari at the helm of affairs. The minister gave the assurance on Saturday aat a meeting with the staff of the Nigerian embassy in Madrid, Spain, and some Nigerian living in the European country. Victor Moses has been crowned 2018 NFF player of the year after edging out Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi and Lobi stars’ Anthony Okpotu. The 27 - year old had a stellar 2016-2017 season helping Chelsea win the English premier league title which meant a return to continental football for the London side. Along with winning the league with English club Chelsea, he was also one of the key players as Nigeria became the first African nation to book a ticket to the Russia 2018 World Cup. Valverde deflects Argentina request to rest Messi

Ernesto Valverde deflected Argentina’s request to rest Lionel Messi more in order to preserve him for the world cup, simply insisting the Barcelona star wants to win everything for his club and country. Roger Federer added yet another record to his vast collection when he became the oldest ATP world number one by beating Dutchman Robin Haase  4-6 6-1 6-1 to reach the semi-finals in Rotterdam on Friday. Senator Dino Melaye of the All Progressive Congress stormed the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 The senator was in court to collect charge sheet in respect of the false information charge preferred against him by the Federal Government. After collecting the charge sheet, Senator Dino Melaye debunked report that he was evading attempts to be served court summon The All Progressive senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Dino Melaye stormed the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory to collect false charge preferred against him. On Sunday, February 11, the Federal Government, through the attorney general of the federation, announced the plan to arraign Melaye for allegedly giving false information to the police and framing the Chief of staff to the Kogi state governor, Edward Onoja, Daily trust reports. 

1,185 Nigerian with fake visas have been detected by the Italian Embassy

The individuals were delivered to the Police Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi which disclosed that it had prosecuted many of them The SFU (Special Fraud Unit) spokeman has pleaded with Nigerians to stop patronizing fake vendors; advising them to go to the internet if they need information on how to apply for visas. The Police Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi, Lagos state has  disclosed that it has received over 1,185 applicants with fake documents from the Italian Embassy, and has charged many of them to court. The disclosure was made by the public relations officer of the SFU, Lawal Audu, said many of the embassies, which partner with SFU , have zero tolerance for forgery. Audu noted that these embassies are mainly interested in issuing visas to credible Nigerians. , Guardian reports. Argentine football federation president Claudio Tapia said he has asked Lionel Messi to play less for Barcelona and be fresher for the World cup. Messi has been in blistering form for the Catalan side that have raced clear at the top of LaLiga but in Argentina they are hoping he doesn’t burn out before the summer. “I hope that all the players will have the same form that they are in the at the moment,” Tapia explained “This is important for the coaches and directors, we spoke with Messi for him to look after himself and play less at Barcelona.” He also revealed that they had received an offer to play a friendly game against Catalonia in Barcelona on June 4th and they are discussing the possibility “Jorge (Sampaoli) said that it would be a good idea on a football level and for us it would also be important economically” he added. 

22 pupils plus driver die in Kano road crash

Twenty-Two pupils of Government Secondary School, Misau, Bauchi State, who were on excursion in Kano, died yesterday in an accident on the Bauchi–Kano Road.The driver of the bus conveying  them also died in the crash which occurred at about 11.00 am. The 18-seater  bus had a head on collision with an articulated vehicle carrying tomatoes. It was  in Tsaida village in Gaya Local Government Council.The pupils were headed for a radio station on excursion.Spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kano State, Kabir Ibrahim-Daura, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the 22 students and their driver died while three others sustained serious injuries.“Of the 22 students, 12 are males while the remaining 10 are females. “Two of the injured were taken to Gaya General Hospital while the remaining one has been referred to a Specialist Hospital in Kano,” he said.Ibrahim-Daura said all the bodies had been deposited at the Gaya General Hospital. Jamb head of media Fabian Benjamin disclosed that UTME registration will not end until February 11. He said the decision was arrived at, after the window period ended at midnight,February 6. he however, noted that the failure to register is unfortunate because culture of impunity would not be tolerated henceforth.
